Rachel Carter, Managing Director

Rachel started out gaining experience in film script assessment as an intern at the UK Film Council, and then went into production at the BBC for live CBBC programming. More recently alongside her work here, she has worked as a producer on short films for the Birmingham School of Acting Brummiewood scheme, and for a taster for a feature film by Khaled El Hagar with Swish Productions.

Rachel creates and implements business strategy and creative policy to drive the company forward towards our long-term goals. She manages all of the creative development activities, including the Screen West Midlands funded slate, and the ideas and pitching processes for all other broadcast projects. Rachel works in creative partnership as a producer on projects with writers and concept creators. She also develops and maintains relationships with Independents Executives, Commissioning Editors, and with both up-and-coming and established writers and directors.

nikiNiki Taigel, Development Researcher

After working on such gems as SAVING PLANET EARTH (BBC) with several production companies based in The East, Niki relocated and joined Framework Television for 9 fun-packed months in 2007.

Coming from the mixed production background of working in both editorial and production, Niki’s experience and appreciation for the whole production process informed the creative development of our slate projects, from conception right through to pitching.

Niki carried out research for programme content as well as keeping abreast of the commissioning climate. She has also played an important role in the selection of projects, drawing on her knowledge of programming, her understanding of audiences, and her individual creative insight. Niki had active involvement in the building and the day to day running of our development processes, and also contributed to our longer-term strategising and key decision making about how we define ourselves as a company.

Our team also includes other highly valuable members. Steffan Aquarone brings valuable strategic support and insight to Framework Television as the managing director of our multi-award winning sister company, Fullrange Media, which he has led to ever increasing success for the last three years. The grounding in production and post production provided by sister companies Fullrange Media and Oakslade Studios, allowing us to produce and post-produce our programmes in-house, also provides us with other key team members. Creative, technical and operational expertise supports Framework in the form of Ed Borgnis (Director of Operations) who has sound engineered for BBC radio and now oversees operational processes, Ed Moore (Head of Production) whose creative and technical expertise lends itself from concept creation right through to expert camera work, and Lee Kemp (New Business Manager) who provides marketing and sales knowledge. Everyone, including our team of staff at Oakslade Studios, also joins in with our team brainstorming of television ideas!
