Mission Statement Continued

We are very ambitious about the types and scale of programmes we believe we can make, as the projects on our funded slate prove, and we have strategically planned long-term ambitions in a number of genres, which we’ve already made significant steps towards. However, as a newly established independent we are focused on feasibility and sustainability. In the shorter term, we are drawing on our proven entrepreneurial base, our industry knowledge, and our various passions for programming to proceed with development in certain key areas, which will provide a solid base for our longer term aims.

Above all, in whichever area of programming we’re working in, we want to be making a difference by providing something truly innovative that makes the most of what the medium can do.

Early Stages: Framework Television’s Programme Areas

One of our main focuses in these earlier stages is on factual programming, including factual entertainment and documentary of various types and scale. We aim to make factual programming which challenges audiences with perspectives that they may not have otherwise encountered, and introduces them to unique and exciting stories and ideas. We continually have lots of factual ideas in development, which are generated both internally and with third parties who bring us access to outstanding people, stories, and events.

We have a strong interest in making a mark with intelligent comedy. The animated adult sit-com on our funded development slate sets a very high quality benchmark for this which we are excited by, and we will be considering comedy development further in various forms including sketch show material.
